SINCE 1854
Humble beginnings
When Antonio Arighi left the Italian civil war behind in 1854, he was unaware that this decision would lead him towards a unique partnership that has endured to this day. He settled in Macclesfield as a clockmaker, and after a number of years went into partnership with cabinetmaker and fellow Italian Antonio Bianchi.

Royal recognition
Their reputation grew along with their business, and by the 1890s they were able to commission and open their landmark building where the store is still based today. Soon, the company’s fame had spread to the royal family, who regularly placed orders.
A century of changeSubsequent generations of the two have since taken the company through a century of unimaginable change. Arighi Bianchi has successfully weathered two world wars and seen off the threat of demolition so that today, the building has Grade 2* listed status and the business itself is stronger than ever.
Future plansAntonio Bianchi’s great grandson's Paul and Anthony, along with their children Robert, Nick and Sarah and Richard and John, are now at the helm. Together they plan to expand and develop this iconic store – without ever losing sight of the enduring values of quality and service that made the name Arighi Bianchi so famous in the first place.
