With their homeland devastated by civil war, Antonio Arighi and Antonio Bianchi fled Lake Como in favour of Cheshire’s thriving silk town, Macclesfield. It was here that their excellent craftsmanship catapulted them into the world of business, and in 1854, Arighi Bianchi was born.

With a mutual passion for creativity, the dynamic duo began to build and sell clocks and barometers, before moving into cabinets and furniture.
Customers were consistently in awe of their expertise and before long, business was booming.

Arighi Bianchi quickly became the go-to destination for luxury home furnishings and accessories, with customers travelling from far and wide to visit the iconic store.

More than 170 years after Antonio Arighi and Antonio Bianchi founded the business, Arighi Bianchi remains proudly family-owned and now operates under its fifth generation. What began as a small workshop in Macclesfield has grown into one of the UK's most distinctive furniture and interiors destinations.

Today, the business is led by CEO Sarah Bianchi alongside members of the wider Bianchi family, continuing a tradition of craftsmanship, innovation and exceptional customer service. While much has changed since 1854, our passion for beautiful homes and inspiring spaces remains at the heart of everything we do.
