Provenance plays a huge part in our business and you’ve got to be a pretty impressive piece of furniture to make it on to the shop floor.
We like to know where everything’s been made, what it’s made out of and especially who’s made it.
With our longstanding reputation for quality and assurance, we’d be daft not to check our furniture’s credentials.
If possible, we like to source furniture that’s been made in the UK like our new AB Collection 1854, which is hand finished by craftsmen just a stones throw away in the Derbyshire hills.
The exclusive Liberty Art Fabrics used to upholster a number of our classic sofas and chairs are original hand painted designs from the famous UK design house, Liberty London.
We love the look and also the principles behind reclaimed. Every piece of furniture you buy, made from reclaimed or recycled materials, is unique. Every mark and knot has a story to tell and gives your piece a character all of its own. That’s pretty special, right?
All our furniture comes with a 5 year manufacturer’s structural warranty and meets the strict guidelines of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
True to our pioneering roots, we’re proud to be the first UK retailer to invest in an onsite facility for recycling carpet. It’s a really clever system that means all our old carpet is converted into solid fuel energy and all our offcuts can be used as underlay. Zero carpet to landfill and big tick to the environment.
Customers can choose to install our 100% recycled Crumbwool underlay and for a small charge we’ll remove the old carpet and recycle that too.
