Hot Interior Trends for 2019

With each New Year comes a new thirst for change!

With each new year comes a new thirst for change for many and there’s no better time than January for getting stuck in with a new interior design project.  Whether it’s sprucing up a tired-looking room or starting with a blank canvas, there’s nothing more exciting than looking for inspiration for the design journey ahead of you.

Trends are constantly evolving and whilst it may be tempting to recreate the next ‘IT’ interior style, we know it can be an expensive process. So here at Arighi Bianchi, we're big believers in capsule colours and textures that can remain dominant for years rather than just a season.  We’ve rounded up a few of our favourite 2019 trends that we love and you can incorporate subtly into your home to make sure you won’t be wanting to start all over again come next January.

Brass Tones

It seems copper tones and chrome have had their day as brass is something we’ll be seeing a lot more of in 2019.  All is not lost though if you were smitten under rose gold’s rather impressive reign as with the introduction of brass comes a new wave of mixing metals.  Mix and match the warmer tones in the form of accessories so you’re not committing to larger pieces that could become outdated quickly.  We love the subtle brass on our Glass Bubble Chandelier and our White Marble Clock has just a hint of metallic on the hands.

Soft Pinks

In a world obsessed with Instagram, it’s no wonder pretty pink has become a firm favourite in homes, if not only for how photogenic it is.  You don’t have to go full Barbie’s Dreamhouse though to incorporate it into your décor – in fact it’s soft, pastel shades that are a big hit this year with their blush-like tones making the perfect neutral base. Dulux have recently released a range of dusky caramels and pale pink palettes that create a great spin on this style. We can’t see an end to this trend any time soon, so our Jean Midi Sofa in ‘Plush Rose’ is not only a pretty statement piece but will serve you well for many years to come.

Colourful Jewels

If pastels aren’t your thing, you’re in luck because bold jewel tones are also set to be huge this year. Not for the faint-hearted, these rich colours certainly are there to be seen and are perfect if you want to stand out from the crowd.  They’re a great alternative to a neutral colour scheme, but our top tip would be to introduce these shades in smaller pieces, so they don’t overwhelm a room – or in case you change your mind! Our Shelly Chair in colour ‘Green Velvet’ is a simple way to bring a jewel shade into your living space. It’s art deco inspired style and super soft velvet will have your home feeling and looking fabulous in no time. This year it’s all about pairing these bold jewel tones with crisp white architecture, it’ll really make your room pop!

Bold Botanicals

Whilst florals may not be everyone’s cup of tea we’re set to see a whole lot more of them this year.  Designers in the know are predicting we’ll be finding the botanical print on every and any surface possible, and there’s no denying it’s a trend that’ll get you noticed.  For the cautious amongst you try our Wedgwood Fable Floral Rug. That way you can see how in love with floral you are, before committing to a more permanent fixture.  The rug's design is both prominent yet elegant, for a statement twist how about try hanging it on the wall?

A pattern that never truly goes out of style, geometric is a versatile trend that you can easily incorporate into your home, and 2019 will see it used in even more areas than usual. One area in particular, is flooring. Here you’ll see different styles of geometrics, from 3D effects, such as our Karndean Kaleidoscope Cubix range to striking black & white large rugs such as our Onix Geo Mono rug. These will work really well combined with the colourful jewel tones and clean white walls.

Soft to the touch, luxe and instantly upmarket, velvet has been a stand out fabric of the last few years and it’s set to be seen everywhere again this year, but word of warning, less is more with this trend. Try to focus on one statement piece or a few smaller additions to ensure your room stays tasteful.  Our Spink & Edgar Crawford Wing Chair will definitely get guests talking, with its contrasting fabrics and bold colours, or our Cherry Stool in various colours may be a perfect accompaniment to an existing sofa.

Whatever the trend, whatever the décor, you’ll be sure to find the pieces you’re after at Arighi Bianchi.  Shop online or visit our Macclesfield showroom.
