Recycling and Separation

To manually separate a mattress, both time and money are required, along with a wide range of associated risks.
Pocket spring mattresses contain between 1,000 to 10,000 single springs wrapped inside a polypropylene textile pocket. The complex nature and design of such mattresses pose several challenges during the separation & recycling process.
Textek have designed a bespoke recycling line to ensure mattress separation can be achieved more easily and with greater efficiency.

How it Works

Textek have designed a bespoke processing line capable of stripping a mattress in less than 30 seconds.

The steel removed from the mattresses is separated for recycling or recovery. Any remaining elements are blended to create a high calorific value Solid Recovered Fuel (Textek SRF), which is then distributed to create greener energy.

One Textek processing line is capable of stripping over 10,000 mattresses per week.
