And this spring, Arighi Bianchi is celebrating this unique spirit with our latest Postcards From Rio collection, bringing the vibrancy of Brazil to UK homes as well as our Macclesfield store.
“As a retailer that has spent more than 170 years helping people create homes they love, our Postcards From concept is simple: travel can be one of the most powerful sources of inspiration for interiors,” says CEO Sarah Bianchi.
“Brazilian interiors have an incredible sense of energy and optimism. What I love most is the way colour, pattern and natural materials are used together so effortlessly. You’ll see rich greens, terracotta, tropical prints and sculptural shapes sitting alongside beautiful wood and woven textures. It feels vibrant but still relaxed and liveable, which is exactly what people want their homes to feel like.”
The Rio aesthetic has long been associated with tropical colour palettes and statement design. But beyond the colours and patterns, it’s also about atmosphere. Brazilian interiors tend to blur the lines between indoors and outdoors, creating spaces that feel social, welcoming and full of life.
That approach resonates particularly strongly in the UK right now. After years dominated by neutral interiors and pared-back minimalism, people are increasingly embracing colour, personality and layered styling within their homes.
“We’re seeing a clear shift away from overly safe interiors,” Sarah says. “People still want homes that feel considered and stylish, but they also want warmth, creativity and a sense of individuality. Brazilian design captures that perfectly because it’s confident with colour and texture without feeling formal.”
Rio-inspired interiors taps into several major design trends shaping interiors in 2026.
- One of the biggest is the move towards expressive colour palettes, with designers encouraging people to be bolder with shades such as coral, mango, palm green and sunset orange.
- Another is the continued rise of natural materials and artisan-style pieces. Brazilian interiors often combine smooth woods, woven textures and handmade ceramics, which align with the growing appetite for homes that feel authentic rather than mass produced.
- There’s also a clear connection to the trend for global influences in interiors. Instead of following one rigid style, many homes are now curated with pieces inspired by travel, culture and craft traditions from around the world. The result is a more personal, collected look that reflects the owner’s tastes and experiences.
Celebrating Rio with in-store events, giveaways and lots of fun!
Visitors to our Macclesfield store will see the Rio influence brought to life across displays featuring decorative accessories, glassware, statement furniture and vibrant home styling pieces designed to capture the mood of the city. The full Postcards From Rio collection is available to explore online and in store now, offering plenty of inspiration for anyone looking to bring a touch of tropical energy into their home.
We love the Rio look so much that we’ve even collaborated with Coat Paints to create a bespoke paint colour. Developed exclusively for our campaign, the custom shade, “Postcards From Rio”, captures the sun-drenched warmth and colour confidence of the Brazilian destination that inspired the collection, setting the tone for an edit filled with joyful interiors and tropical influences.
We’re also taking the sensory experience further with a fantastic partnership with Granado. Granado is one of Brazil’s oldest and most respected fragrance and beauty brands, founded in 1870 in Rio de Janeiro by Portuguese immigrant José Antônio Coxito Granado. Originally established as an apothecary producing remedies made from Brazilian plants and botanicals, the company became known for its high-quality formulas and was even appointed the official pharmacy of the Brazilian Imperial Family. Over time Granado evolved into a luxury beauty house, now recognised internationally for its perfumes, soaps and home fragrance products that celebrate Brazilian ingredients, culture and craftsmanship while retaining the brand’s distinctive vintage apothecary aesthetic.
The Postcards From Rio campaign also goes beyond product. Throughout the season, Arighi Bianchi will host a series of in-store events and experiences celebrating Brazilian culture. See our events section for more information about our upcoming Rio event and giveaways.
So, from Copacabana to Cheshire, Rio’s colour confidence is influencing UK interiors in a big way, and we hope you love it as much as we do!
